What we did: Email marketing, Black Friday/Cyber Monday retail sales strategy

Challenge: When RackHouse Whiskey Club approached Ampersand, they already had an email list of around 1,000 names they weren’t speaking to (say whaaaa?). Seeing a golden opportunity to use bold, punchy language to attract their ideal customers, ahem, whiskey fans, we implemented a retail sales strategy through email marketing to build momentum and increase sales during the busy holiday shopping season, including Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The emails included value-driven language that could be used long after the shopping frenzy subsided. As a result, revenue from email marketing exploded, membership grew and we got more whiskey in the hands of people who really love it. As Mark Twain famously said, “too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough.” We concur, Mark.
